Meet Duncan!

Duncan is an older basset, around 8. He was originally rescued from an area shelter and then surrendered to HHBR. He was adopted out, but was returned to the rescue 3 years later. He had changed hands a couple of times during that time and the last owner wasn't able to take care of him.
He was placed in foster care back in 2010 and his foster family fell in love with him and we thought he had a permanent home. Unfortunately, living circumstances changed for his foster family and Duncan found himself back in rescue, again.
He's a good sized basset, weighing in around 60 lbs. Duncan is a sweet guy, who loves being with people. He likes going for walks and would love a home with a fenced yard to call his own.

Meet Noel!

You're right, she's not a basset. But she still needs a home. Our vet, Buttercup Animal Hospital, saved her life and is now trying to find her a loving home. If you are interested in Noel, fill out our online application and we will forward to Buttercup.
Noel is a 20 month old Staffordshire terrier. She is spayed and current on vaccines and is heartworm negative. Very sweet, loving girl. She is very energetic but we think she will calm down some after being in a home and not in a kennel. She loves to play with other dogs and seems to be good with kids.

This is Sheriff!

Sheriff is ~7 years old, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. He's a good sized basset -- 63 pounds. His family surrendered him to HHBR because they couldn't keep him anymore.
His previous family says this about him -- "Sheriff is a wonderful dog. He loves to bark when he gets excited. He loves to go on walks in the neighborhood. He is also good on trips to the dog park. He is completely housebroken. He loves getting dog treats. He likes to sleep on a living room couch or with a family member. He spends time on the living room couch in the evenings with our daughter. He reads people very well. He knows if you are having a bad day and makes himself available for petting and belly rubs."

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Diego

Meet Diego!

Diego was picked up as a stray by an area shelter. He is ~3 years old, neutered and currently in heartworm treatment. He is still in the "crate rest" stage of the treatment. His foster family says he is good with female dogs; but not so good with male dogs. He would do best as an only dog or in a home with submissive female. He does crate, however, he yodels a little in the beginning and needs a good push to get him in. He knows when its time and he will try and hide. Otherwise, he would sleep on the couch or in the bed. Super cuddler. Likes belly rubs.
He does need fine tuning in house training. He's got it down for the most part but has occasional accidents. He can be a little food protective but just makes noise and only to other animals. He is getting fat due to his running around being limited for now.
He is a playful, funny guy. Lots of character. He loves the outdoors. For now his activity is limited while in heartworm treatment. When recovered he would love an active family.

This is Buttercup!

Buttercup came from a shelter where she was scheduled to be put down. She is ~6-8 years old and has plenty of life left in her. She's spay and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She weighs about 60 lbs.
Her foster family has this to say about her, "Buttercup is house trained and doesn't appear to jump onto furniture. She was a little slow to bond with other dogs; but did after about a week. She likes to play fetch -- although with her size and weight it is a slower game of fetch. She is very affectionate. She likes to sit at your feet and adore and be adored. She crate trained very quickly. She loves cheese. She has been a bit reserved at first, but she is warming to the whole household now."
Buttercup is looking for a family to love her and she has lots of love to give back.

She is a red and white. Doodles really enjoys the company of people and will seek you out to get attention. Like her sister, Snickers, she is good with other dogs and likes people of all ages.
We want to try and keep her with her sister, so please consider adopting them both.

This is Snickers!

Snickers came to HHBR from a shelter where she had been surrendered along with her sister Doodles. Snickers is about 5 years old, spayed, up-to-date on shots, and weighs in at 56 lbs.
Snickers had an ear infection when she came to HHBR and is being treated with antibiotic drops.
Snickers is outgoing and really enjoys walks and investigating new things. We would like to keep the two together as they cry when separated from one another. Besides, twice the basset -- twice the fun.

Adopt Me LinkPicture of Sophie

This is Sophie!

Sophie came from an area shelter along with another basset, Sammy. They were surrendered by their owner. She tested negative for heartworms and had a dental with 5 extractions. We think Sophie is between 4-6 years old and weighs 38 lbs.

Once she warms up to you, which doesn't take long, she's very friendly and would prefer to set next to you. Sophie prefers people to other dogs and would do best in a home without any other dogs. She can be quite the Diva. In Sophie's foster home, she has learned to walk on a leash and is house trained with a doggy door. She enjoys people of all ages and interacts well with children.

Sophie is such a gentle sweet soul looking for a home to call her own.
